Woman’s club hears program on finance Southport Woman’s Club home life chairman Becky Lucas present ed James Williams and Brett McKeithan, financial advisors with American Express, as speakers at the October 7 club meeting. The nominating committee pre sented the slate of officers to the general membership for election. The new elected officers for. 1999 are: President, Betty Johnson (serv ing a third term); first vice-presi dent, Arlyne Fetterer; second vice president, Audrey Carathanasis; secretary, Shirley Lewis; treasurer, Joanne Shaller; chaplain, Libby Garner; publicity, Margaret Con naughton. Officers will be installed at the December meeting. Ways and means chairman Sonja Perkins announced plans for the club’s annual fashion show. The show will be from 1 to 3 p.ni, November 4 at' the Oak Island Presbyterian Church, 1503 East Oak Island Drive, Long Beach. There will be desserts and door prizes. Tickets are $3 and may be pur chased from any club member. ■ Proceeds from the fashion show will be used for Candidates chosen for the Sallie Southall Cotten Scho larship. A $200 check from the Southport Woman’s Club was recently sent to the academic letters program at South Brunswick High School.
